GUNTERSVUILLE, Ala-

Lake Guntersville is famous for its massive fishing pressure and legendary production year after year. Bringing home a winning bag requires both strategy and adaptability. An angler can separate himself from the field by  doing something a little different. That is precisely what Gardendale pro Nick Smoke  dialed into early on day one. While others struggled to find consistency, Smoke

hunkered down on that one premium bite anchoring his final day winning bag with 19.02 pounds including an impressive 5.01 kicker fish. In second place was

Trussville, Ala. pro Lee McClendon Jr.  who came up just ounces short from victory with 18.14 adding nail biting suspense at the scales with a 5.01 kicker fish of his own.  Smoke held on and secured a decisive victory after a long layoff from the trail.
