Cane  Creek- Cherokee Al.

The AOY race narrative took an unexpected turn after points leader Ron Douglas experienced boat issues. Birmingham pro Richard "Chunk" Johnson seized the moment and ascended atop the AOY leaderboard with an impressive 5 fish sack weighing 9.10. Johnson's third place finish was enough to move into the top spot.

Lake Pickwick was first of three events for Goldenrod on the Tennessee river. Unseasonably warm temps and threats of severe weather kept anglers from exploring the 52 mile long impound. The fishing was not as hot as the air temps and many struggled to get bites during official practice periods.

On game day things weren't much different. Some anglers took full advantage of the shad spawn with a few keepers to start the day. As mid-morning transitioned into afternoon, the "struggle bus" had quite a few riders. Anglers were forced to grind and junk fish any and everywhere as the bite seemingly vanished into thin air.

The scales told a much different narrative than the AOY race. Gadsden pro Ron Miller led the way with 11.01 including a 4.6 kicker. The rookie angler made a big statement with career win number one. The final results were:

2. Anthony Mostella 10.11 (5)

3.Richard Johnson 9.10 (5)

4.Steven Turner- 7.02 (3)

5.Eddie Hill -2.02 (2)
